All in the Family

Before the Ag Krane, in 1967, Charles Schlabs designed an implement to pull behind a moldboard plow to break up the clods on his 1000 acre farm in west Texas. He went on to patent his "Plow Packer" and Schlabs Manufacturing was born. For the next 25 years he manufactured and sold the "Plow Packer" to farmers in a 300 mile radius of his Hereford, Texas home and farming operation. His goal was to build a great product that would meet a need that was not being met by any other agricultural manufacturer.

Ag Krane is Born

By 1990 the farm climate and practices had changed with farmers shifting to "no-till farming" and very little moldboard plowing. At that time, Charles decided to retire from manufacturing and handed the company to his son, Richard, who began to work on a new product called the "Ag Krane". The Ag Krane started out as a personal implement to be used on the Schlabs Farm to help lift and move various things on the farm. Several times a week neighbors would borrow the Ag Krane to lift and move things. They were amazed how much it would lift and how easy it was to attach and use. Richard saw the Ag Krane as a product that every farmer needed on his farm.

An Award Winning Product

In 1995, OEM Magazine awarded the Ag Krane an "OEM Emmy" award for Technological and Innovative Excellence. The Ag Krane was chosen from hundreds of other products in the agricultural market for its revolutionary design and multi purpose concept.

Revolutionary Design

Before the release of the product, the Ag Krane underwent numerous changes in design after on-farm testing and use. We have continued to field-tests to improve the Ag Krane. Whether it's stacking hay, loading pallets of seed, lifting and moving other equipment around the farm, or handling large seed bags, the Ag Krane is perfect for making your farm operate at it's maximum potential. The Ag Krane truly is a farmer's best friend. With the flexibility of being able to hook up to virtually every tractor on the market, the Ag Krane can be ready to use within 2 minutes or less.
